Development of databases for the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway

  Location : St. Lawrence Seaway
  Year : 2005-2007
Client : Great Lakes Pilotage Authority
Vessel Type : Seaway Size Vessels

The Great Lakes Pilotage Authority used the services of the Maritime Simulation and Resource Centre (MSRC) to provide its pilots with continuous proficiency training.

The MSRC developed a geographic database for the Great Lakes and  the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway, including several ports, such as Valleyfield, Prescott, Ogdensburg, Hamilton, Oswego, Oshawa, Windsor, Sarnia and Sault Ste. Marie.

The database contains the elements needed to conduct extremely precise simulations, such as bathymetric data, the natural topography of the sites, existing structures, and so on.
