Training details
Goal/standards:  Give pilots an overview of escort tug operations principles in narrow channels.
Length:  2 days
Simulation:  Mainly practical. Brief theoretical explanations, followed by exercises on the multidisciplinary navigation simulator.
Prerequisites:  Completion of a recognized AZIMUTHING PODDED PROPULSION course and, holding a pilot’s license or being in the process of acquiring such a license.
Preferred teaching   
strategies: 
Theoretical and practical, hands-on experience using the navigation simulator. Discussions among the participants encouraged during manoeuvres.
Notes:  Each pilot has its own Navigation Bridge, hence allowing for
100 % of the training time (no sharing).

Unless otherwise stated, all training begins at 8:30 a.m.
