  What's new

Presented once a year, the Ocean Innovation Conference is designed to bring together the leading representatives from Canada and abroad of industry, government and any academic institutions involved in the maritime area. A different theme is selected each year so as to provide better coverage of the particular aspects of the industry in light of the current realities of this vast field. The theme of Ocean Innovation 2007 was The Rise of Maritime Simulation, which could not have been better suited to the MSRC, in view of its area of expertise and the activities it is involved in.

In order to take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to acquaint a huge range of stakeholders in the maritime community with the simulation centre, the MSRC gave a presentation titled: The Role of the Simulator in Pilot Proficiency and Partnership. Emphasis was placed on the growing importance of the role played by navigation simulators in the training of apprentices and the continuous proficiency of pilots.
